Peter Chan’s ‘Wu Xia’ premieres in Beijing

This Tuesday (June 28) saw the premiere of Peter Chan’s new martial-arts film “Wu Xia” in Beijing.
The director led cast members Donnie Yen, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Tang Wei, Li Xiaoran and Kara Hui on the red carpet.
Chan had invited many of his celebrity friends to the premiere. Those also appearing on the red carpet included actress Gao Yuanyuan, “Painted Skin 2″ stars Zhou Xun and Chen Kun and Xia Yu and his wife Yuan Quan.
In the film, Donnie Yen plays a martial-arts specialist who lives in a tranquil village with his wife (Tang Wei) and sons. But his life is stirred following the arrival of a detective (Takeshi Kaneshiro) who is determined to uncover his dark past.
The film was screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
It will open in Chinese cinemas on July 4.
