Actor Lu Yi and Wife Appear in Car Ad

Chinese star couple Lu Yi and Bao Lei recently joined hands to shoot a commercial for German carmaker Mercedes-Benz, reported Sina.com.cn.
On the set in Shanghai, the couple extended their real-life love, carving out a romantic story against a backdrop of roses and a car.
Lu Yi and his wife have a one-year-old daughter, who the actor says is too young to act. Instead, Mercedes-Benz has selected a 3-year-old girl to complete the family in the ad.
The commercial will appear on TV next month, according to Sina.
Beginning his career as a child star, 34-year-old Lu Yi has a long list of films and television dramas under his belt, among them Tsui Hark’s “Seven Swords”, Hu Mei’s “Confucius”, and Yang Yazhou’s “Xue Se Tong Xin”. He will next appear in Feng Xiaogang’s quake film “Aftershocks”.
In 2006, Lu Yi married his college love Bao Lei. The couple enjoys a stable marriage although many showbiz romances are infamously short-lived.

Chinese stars including Jackie Chan, Yao Ming and Joey Yung joined nearly 10,000 local residents in Shanghai on Thursday to mark the 100-day countdown to the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
Jackie Chan brought to the ceremony the song “City”, which was composed to echo the Shanghai Expo’s “Better City, Better Life” slogan.
For his part, basketball star Yao Ming led the audience to belt out, “Sprinting the last 100! We are in action!”
Both Jackie Chan and Yao Ming are promotional ambassadors for the Shanghai World Expo.
The gala event is scheduled to kick off in Shanghai on May 1.
