Director Daniel Lee’s latest film, “White Vengeance”, held a ceremony to mark the end of filming in Beijing on Tuesday. Lead cast members Liu Yifei, Feng Shaofeng and Jia Qing were seen together with the director at the event.
In the movie, Feng portrays the great conqueror, Xiang Yu, while Liu plays his concubine, Yu Ji.
Feng told the media that the director wanted him to show the domineering attitude of Xiang Yu, which put a lot of pressure on him. He said, “When you face award-winning actors like Leon Lai, Zhang Hanyu and Anthony Wong, it’s very hard to be ‘domineering’. I watched Leon Lai for hours to imitate him and I learnt a lot.”
Meanwhile Liu Yifei joked that she didn’t feel the same pressure as Feng. Many people think that the moment when the character Yu Ji commits suicide to follow Xiang Yu is the most romantic element of their relationship, but Liu thinks that the way they meet and fall in love is also very romantic.
Director Lu Chuan’s movie, “The Last Supper”, takes on the same subject. Liu said there is nothing to worry after she paid a visit on his set. She added, “We are two completely different movies. There is no comparison.”
“White Vengeance” will hit screens in November.
