Edison Chen to Release New Album by X’mas

Hong Kong-based singer-actor Edison Chen will release his new Mandarin album around Christmas time, after his three-year break from the limelight.

Edison Chen wrote almost all the lyrics in this album, entitled “Confusion”, through which he hopes to tell fans his development, since the past three years. The album contains Chen’s three new singles, namely “Mr. Sandman”, “Running”, and “I Can Fly”.

Chen announced an “indefinite” break from the Hong Kong showbiz industry in 2008, after a sex photo scandal broke out involving Chen and several of his girlfriends.

Edison Chen Releases New Album

Controversial Hong Kong pop star and actor Edison Chen has released a new song and music video on October 7, also his birthday, marking his official return to the entertainment industry, QQ.com reports.

The song, called “Mr. Sandman”, is from his new album, “CONFUSION.” and Chen partnered with Adidas Originals to produce the video.

Edison has invited the famous Taiwan rapper MC Hotdog to be the producer of his new album and has translated English rap lyrics into Chinese.

Edison has said that he will focus on promoting his album in Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Malaysia and other markets outside of Hong Kong.

Chen left the industry following what was dubbed the “Nude Picture Scandal” in 2008, in which his laptop was hacked and dozens of private photos were released to the public. This year, Chen has begun to make occasional public appearances leading up to the release of his new album, which is considered as his official comeback.
