Zhang Liangying, from the popular talent show Happy Girls showed up at the launch ceremony of the 2009 MTV Awards and Style Gala with her hair dyed gold, dressed in leather, a short skirt and boyish hat.
Zhang, who seemed to be channeling the American pop diva look, said her idol was Mariah Carey.
“Fashion is an attitude and requires perseverance. You have to work very hard to be tough and strong,” she said.
Zhang will attend the 2009 MTV Style Gala in Shanghai Grand Theater on Dec 2, together with Jackie Chan, A-mei, Karen Mok, and Korean pop girl band Wonder Girls, whose song Nobody has as swept across China.
